How To Learn Chinese

There are various methods to learn to speak Chinese. The methods that you should apply depends on your goals.
Whether your goal is just to learn the fundamental words and sentences, or you want to learn more and want to be able to carry out a conversation, you should follow these tips on how to learn to speak Chinese:
1) If you’re in high-school or college make sure to take Chinese lessons, they are free and they are conducted by a trained lecturer with whom you may discuss any questions and problems that you have.As you can communicate with the lecturer, this is a great way to learn to speak Chinese.
2) Watch video lessons on the internet. Search youtube for Chinese lessons, you will be able to find plenty of entertaining Chinese lessons. The ability to visualise the person that is giving the lecture gives the video lessons and edge over audio lessons.
3) Try to communicate with a friend that can speak Chinese fluently in Chinese as much as possible. Tell him/her to correct you when you make a mistake. Try to talk in Chinese as much as possible, don’t be afraid of making a mistake or not being able to understand what the person with whom you’re talking will reply.Be confident, when trying to learn any language, making mistakes is a part of the process.You can find an online friend that is a native Chinese speaker if you are not in an environment where there are Chinese speakers. You can easily find a pen buddy on Myspace or similar sites.
4) Get a complete Chinese learning course. Although there are many courses that can teach you how to learn to speak Chinese, most of them don’t bring the results that they promise and they are expensive. This is according to my persoanl experience, I ended up spending a lot of money on various courses in my efforts to learn Chinese.Ihave created a web page in which I review and rate the popular programs for learning Chinese that are available.
